Meditation is something that is so vital for our well being. So it’s important to have a dedicated space in our homes to practice it. Here I’ll share some meditation corner ideas that you can incorporate right away!

Everyone has different lifestyles, so just use what works best for you in the present moment. Remember nothing is set in stone, what you may like today may not work later on…and that’s o.k., just be here now!

Choose what feels right for you in this season of your life. We are always evolving, so don’t be afraid to try something new or to get rid of something that is not longer serving you.

I’ve looked at different items on the internet that can best suit your needs to create your meditation corner. You can just click on the pictures, and you can see where you can purchase them.

Alright friends, let’s begin!

1. Seating For Your Meditation Corner

When we meditate, we have to make sure that we are completely comfortable. Everyone meditates for different amount of times. For some it may be only 10 minutes, others perhaps for 2 hours. So make sure that your body feels fully relaxed here.

Depending on your preference, you could use a meditation cushion or a chair. There is no right or wrong way. Personally I have both. In the morning I like to sit on my meditation cushion, this position also helps me wake up. At night, I prefer a chair, since my body is more tired I like the extra back support.

Next to your meditation cushion or chair, you can place a small table. This is very helpful since it can hold different items such as:

When deciding which type of table to get review the following:

Height- For example if you are seating on the floor and you have a statue that is sitting on a table that is too high, after a while it may hurt your neck to be looking up for to long.

Also, if you are seating on a chair, you’ll want your table to right next to you so you can easily reach items if needed.

Length- How many items are you trying to place on top of it. For example, if you have different crystals that you want to put there, will you have enough room?

On the other hand, you may have a very limited space in your room and a smaller table will suit you best.

Since you’ll be using a corner of your room, get a measuring tape and that way you can calculate how much space you’ll need.

You can always bring nature inside with a wide variety of plants. When creating your meditation corner, see if you will be next to a window where the plants can get direct sunlight. If not, make sure to select plants that do well in shaded areas.

You can have your plants either hanging from the ceiling, wall or on the floor. Remember to water them regularly as needed. If you don’t have time to water plants, there are also some self watering devices that you place on the pots and you don’t have to worry for days.

So even if you don’t have a green thumb, you can still have some green in your life!
